SDBC Feature of the Week: Jessica Washington
Meet our #SDBC Feature of the Week!
Jessica Washington is a 34 year old Syracuse native who enjoys her career as an inner city pre-school educator. With her Masters in early childhood special education, Jessica is passionate about making sure children in low-income city schools have teachers like herself who truly care about their well-being and their abilities. “I work with young children who look like me and I want them to begin their educational journey with a good taste in their mouth about learning, working hard and being a good person. Children need to be rooted with great examples early so that they will grow up loving the person they are. Our females will love themselves enough to know that being single is a choice until they feel unconditional love in which they know they deserve. You set your own standards and build yourself up if you have to. Many of our children are roses growing from concrete. I want to pour into them and speak life over them as early as I possibly can.”
Jessica is also a hardworking single mother and she enjoys spending her time making her son smile. Her personal time consists of reading a good book and spending quality time with friends and family. She loves having unapologetic fun and traveling whenever time permits. Her favorite motto is, “Smile, you only live once so live everyday as if it’s your last with no regrets.”
